Meet Sarah

Sarah Hunko is a lifelong educator who is still a teacher at heart. She began teaching in the Bronx in 2007 and since co-founded a middle-high school on Chicago’s Far South Side where she served as the founding principal for four years. Since then, she has coached principals, teachers, and school leadership teams all across Chicago Public Schools. She is incredibly passionate about ensuring women, especially women of color, have access to excellent development opportunities.

Her clients have said that she’s a bit of fun, keeps it real, and pushes them to see themselves at their best. She approaches all of her work with an equity lens, from an intersectional feminist standpoint, and with a vision for the abolition of all oppressive structures. She is a Chicana and a first-generation college graduate from outside of Detroit.

Sarah’s many other passions include spending time with her dog, hanging out in nature, cooking, reading tarot, dancing, and playing guitar just well enough to sing with abandon. She is also pretty in love with her new hometown of New Orleans.

“A love ethic presupposes that everyone has the right to be free, to live fully and well.”
